My colorful Holi Memories
After meeting my close friend Shwetha, my life has changed more colorful. She used to always tell me that we should see our life as a colorful one. In Tamil Nadu, we do not celebrate Holi much like North India. However, I started celebrating after meeting Shwetha.
When she calls me to wish for New Year, she clearly tells the date of Holi for that year. She consistently checks whether we have booked tickets for traveling to their place.
Holi means colorful. She tells that we should always make our life as colorful. On Holi, both of us take a bag of gulaal and visit her friends' house. There were days when we forget to eat the whole day. We forget ourselves on the day of Holi. Our only motive used to be to put gulaal as much as we can.
We left our bag of gulaal once in her place and started walking to her friend's place. It was located 30 minutes far from her house. We were so excited to throw colors on each and everyone in her family. After reaching her home, we realized that we forget our gulaal bag. We both got disappointed. We were not able to buy as we did not have money.
We did not want to enter her friend's house as we were afraid that they will tease us. We were standing near the street corner as were not able to walk back immediately. We were very tired and wanted to take rest. So, we were standing.
We saw a dog coming towards us and left some polythene bag in front of us. It left the place silently. It was a bag of gulaal. We were excited but did not take it for some time. We were waiting for the owner of the bag to come. But nobody turned out for half an hour. So, we took the bag and ran towards her friend's home.
We started throwing the gulaal as soon as we entered. We were playing happily for the full day. When we went to the first floor of their home, we saw a similar dog. We thought they were just looking alike.
When we returned to Shwetha's home, her father told me that whether we were given new bag of gulaal by her friend's family. We were wondering why he was saying that. He told that he had called her friend's house to tell that we had left the bag. They had told that they would take care off.
Then only, we were able to realise that they have only sent the gulaal bag through their dog. Shwetha immediately called her friend's house and her grandma confirmed the same.
Holi is not only about colors and staining. It is also about love and affection we have for people on which we put gulaal.
Shwetha has promised me that she would visit my place to celebrate Holi this year. I am just eagerly waiting for her arrival.

My Beautiful Holi Memories
As I am from Tamil Nadu, we have never celebrated Holi as a family. Before I got Shwetha in my life, I have seen Holi only on the TV. Shwetha is my best friend who is very close to my heart. I came to know about her through my dad's friend. When they visited our native for a family trip, they came to our house to taste Tirunelveli Halwa. We both were too little and language was a barrier for us to play together. We smiled at each other only when they were about to leave. But both of our families mingled very nicely.
When Diwali came that year, they had sent us a greeting card to greet for Diwali. We did the same thing for New Year and they sent for Pongal again. To our surprise, they sent us a handwritten letter too inviting us to their house for Holi.
When my father asked me whether we could go to their home, I was very skeptical to visit their home. As were very little at that time, we were not fluent in English too. My father convinced me somehow. He guessed that their family must be wearing new dresses for Holi. He did not want us to wear old dresses. So, he had bought us new dresses for Holi.
We boarded the train and reached their place after traveling for 42 hours. It was such a long travel. That uncle had come to pick us up from the station. We reached their house safely without getting stained from colors.
I took the bath and wore the new dress. As soon as I came out, Shwetha she put gulaal on me. My new dress got fully stained and I started to cry. I was not able to control myself. After seeing me crying, Shwetha went inside her room and brought a new dress.
She told me that they have bought that dress only for me and asked me to wear. She apologised too. I loved that dress too. So, I stopped crying and went to wear that dress.
When I came back, I saw Shwetha's friend sitting in the hall. Her native was Tamil Nadu and she had known even Tamil. She immediately became close to me. She asked me whether Shwetha's dad had bought 2 similar dresses. I asked why she is asking. She told that even Shwetha showed the same dress as her Holi dress few days before.
Shwetha went and took her from the hall to tell something. When she returned back, I asked her what they talked. She told me that the dress I was wearing was Shwetha's. She had given me her Holi dress as I was crying. I was stunned to hear her response.
I immediately went and hugged Shwetha. I went and took some gulaal and asked her to throw at me again. She was hesitating initially. I told her not to worry and asked to put me gulaal. I told her that I would keep the dress with gulaal for the lifetime as a token of love.

My golden memory
August 21, 2014, the most precious date in my life on which God has made me a complete woman. It was the very first day on which I saw the whole meaning of my life on my hand in the form of little one. The day on which I had successive peppy moments in my life, right from seeing the cute one making his presence in this world, touching his very soft hands, holding him for the first time and, more importantly feeding him for the first time.
The cute one was quite only for few hours but started crying very frequently and loudly even in the nights. Within a very short period of time, I suspected that the signs were not good. I felt that my baby was struggling with something. More precisely, I thought that he might have some minor health issue.
When the doctors visited my room, I told them the same. With no care, they said that nothing to worry and he was normal. But I was not convinced. But everyone around me told not to have a negative thinking.
The situation became chaotic just in 2 days. With continuous visits of relatives and constant crying of my baby, I felt physically down without the much required rest. But my mind was wandering about my baby. The doctors continued to say there was no problem with the baby.
On the second day, the situation had become worse in the evening. I saw my son's eyes turning pale yellow in color. In the midnight, my baby started crying without stopping. My mom and hubby went to meet the duty doctor. The duty doctor did not even bother to come out from her seat to see what was happening. She just answered, "Some babies will cry continuously. I have seen so many babies. I do not understand why you are creating a big issue with this.". My mom lost her patience and started scolding her. Then, she came to my room with no interest. She saw the baby and said he was good only. We were totally fed up with the duty doctor and waited desperately for the next day to meet the main doctor.
The main doctor came to my room for regular visit along with few other doctors. I told her that his eyes were looking pale yellow in color. She told that she also did not suspect anything as such but she would ask the nurses to take blood sample for testing neonatal jaundice.
I was not afraid as I just wanted to cure the illness first. I was happy that at least one step was taken. We were waiting for the nurse to come to take blood sample. But she did not come. Evening had come and we lost our hope again. My mom went to meet the nurse and asked her to come to my room.
"This nurse is telling that she is not aware of the blood test was instructed and the morning shift nurse did not inform her and wrote it anywhere.", my mom told.
"Yes mam", she told. "What is happening here? Do you realize the importance of your role as doctor and nurse? How careless that nurse was? Please do something immediately. The blood test has to be done in another 10 minutes.", I shouted. I became very angry with the morning shift nurse as it is a matter of playing with life of a baby. It should be taken seriously and it is not something which one cannot be irresponsible.
The test had been taken and my son had neonatal jaundice as I expected. He was taken to neonatal care unit and was kept in warmer. They used to call us when he had to be taken to my room for feeding. My mom used to bring him to the room and took him back to warmer. It continued for 2 days.
Doctors told that they were thinking that he might be better now. To confirm that, they told that they will take a blood test again. They took a blood sample and left the baby in my room itself. They told that we could keep him with us till the result had come.
My son was happily enjoying in the room. He did not like to sleep. The real bonding had started between us as he was not well in the initial days. I played with him and he enjoyed being in the room with me.
The result had come and they told that there was a very good improvement but it would be better if we could keep in warmer for another 8 hours. My son was taken to warmer by mom. I felt very hard when he was taken as we enjoyed being together and he started to recognize me. I fed him well before sending. They told my mom that she could come after 2 hours for the next feeding.
In another 15 minutes, we got a call in my room that baby was continuously crying. My mom went. "Please feed the child and bring him.", the nurse told and gave the baby.
My mom thought that he did not drink the milk properly. I felt that he drank more than enough. "He might be very hungry", I thought. I fed him but he did not drink. He was just playing on my lap. I tried to feed him but it went in vain. It was more than 30 minutes and I sent him back. I just wanted him to stay for 8 hours totally to recover completely. I wanted him to come back to me as soon as possibly.
We got another call again in another 10 minutes and my mom went. "Has your daughter fed him well? He is crying again.", the nurse told my mom and gave the baby.
"My daughter told that he drank well and he did not drink last time when I took him", she told. Then they said my mom to go back to room and they would take care.
They tried to console him but he was not getting consoled. They again called us back. My mom went and my baby was given.
He did not drink milk but he was playing again. He was not at all crying when he was with me. I waited for another 30 minutes as I thought that the nurse would scold if he cries again. I sent him back.
My mom told everything to the nurse and gave the baby to her. We got a call again and saying that the baby was crying. My mom went. She was tired as she wanted to go up and down of 3 floors.
"May be, baby wants to be with his mom only. That might be the reason. He stayed with her last night right. Initially he was ill. But now he has become normal and he does not want to stay away from his mom anymore", the nurse told with smile. My mom told that the nurse was little emotional too seeing the baby's love for his mom.
"It is so true", both me and my mom thought. He was enjoying thoroughly in the room. The doctor heard about the whole thing and she told that the level of jaundice had reduced significantly. "If he could not stay in the warmer, let he stay with you. But you just keep him under sunlight every morning for another one month. That should be fine.", she told. "But I have to mention that your baby loves you so much and it so pure. I feel amazed when I came to know about what happened.", she told.
The tears were rolling down already. With so much love in heart, I turned to my sleeping baby and what I got to see was a divine smile from my baby. I hugged him immediately and had no words to express how happy I felt.

The test had been taken and my son had neonatal jaundice as I expected. He was taken to neonatal care unit and was kept in warmer. They used to call us when he had to be taken to my room for feeding. My mom used to bring him to the room and took him back to warmer. It continued for 2 days.
Doctors told that they were thinking that he might be better now. To confirm that, they told that they will take a blood test again. They took a blood sample and left the baby in my room itself. They told that we could keep him with us till the result had come.
My son was happily enjoying in the room. He did not like to sleep. The real bonding had started between us as he was not well in the initial days. I played with him and he enjoyed being in the room with me.
The result had come and they told that there was a very good improvement but it would be better if we could keep in warmer for another 8 hours. My son was taken to warmer by mom. I felt very hard when he was taken as we enjoyed being together and he started to recognize me. I fed him well before sending. They told my mom that she could come after 2 hours for the next feeding.
In another 15 minutes, we got a call in my room that baby was continuously crying. My mom went. "Please feed the child and bring him.", the nurse told and gave the baby.
My mom thought that he did not drink the milk properly. I felt that he drank more than enough. "He might be very hungry", I thought. I fed him but he did not drink. He was just playing on my lap. I tried to feed him but it went in vain. It was more than 30 minutes and I sent him back. I just wanted him to stay for 8 hours totally to recover completely. I wanted him to come back to me as soon as possibly.
We got another call again in another 10 minutes and my mom went. "Has your daughter fed him well? He is crying again.", the nurse told my mom and gave the baby.
"My daughter told that he drank well and he did not drink last time when I took him", she told. Then they said my mom to go back to room and they would take care.
They tried to console him but he was not getting consoled. They again called us back. My mom went and my baby was given.
He did not drink milk but he was playing again. He was not at all crying when he was with me. I waited for another 30 minutes as I thought that the nurse would scold if he cries again. I sent him back.
My mom told everything to the nurse and gave the baby to her. We got a call again and saying that the baby was crying. My mom went. She was tired as she wanted to go up and down of 3 floors.
"May be, baby wants to be with his mom only. That might be the reason. He stayed with her last night right. Initially he was ill. But now he has become normal and he does not want to stay away from his mom anymore", the nurse told with smile. My mom told that the nurse was little emotional too seeing the baby's love for his mom.
"It is so true", both me and my mom thought. He was enjoying thoroughly in the room. The doctor heard about the whole thing and she told that the level of jaundice had reduced significantly. "If he could not stay in the warmer, let he stay with you. But you just keep him under sunlight every morning for another one month. That should be fine.", she told. "But I have to mention that your baby loves you so much and it so pure. I feel amazed when I came to know about what happened.", she told.
The tears were rolling down already. With so much love in heart, I turned to my sleeping baby and what I got to see was a divine smile from my baby. I hugged him immediately and had no words to express how happy I felt.

My dad is my real time superhero.He taught us so many things by his words, but he taught even more by his actions.He is working as a special assistant in Indian Overseas Bank. He belonged to a middle-class family. My dad's parents love girl children more than him and my mom's parents love boy children more than her. I and my sister used to tease them that they should exchange their parents. Thus, they didn't get support in any form from both of their parents. My grandparents have never bothered about us either in happy times or in hard times. My dad is the only one who is our physical, mental and emotional supporter.
The most important thing I learned from my father is money doesn't count always. He made me understand that love and security are not always connected to money. Hugs and presence are the most important needs for every human being. He started his career as a clerk and still he remains as a special assistant.
He is a more knowledgeable person. Many wondered why such an eligible and knowledgeable person still remains in the same position. He got so many opportunities to get promoted as a manager. But he doesn't even dare to utilize those opportunities. The only reason that stopped him from accepting such offers is that if he gets a promotion, then it is mandatory for him to get transferred to some other location once in every two years. Due to my studies, he had to go alone if he gets transferred.
One day he was called for an interview in Madurai. My mom packed everything for him the day before itself. He said goodbye to me before going to bed as he had to start early in the morning. Next day, I took my cup of coffee after getting up and came to the balcony where I was shocked to see my father sitting and reading the newspaper. I couldn't believe my own eyes. When I asked my mom, she told that he never wants to leave us alone.
Though he was born and brought up in a family where he used to strive hard for his daily expenses, he never gives more importance for the money. He always gives value to relationships. He knows that such promotions will give him much pride, more money and will help him to prove his identity. But he sacrificed all such things just for us. In that way, he distinguished himself from others in a better way.
I saw some of my friend's fathers sending them valuable gifts on their birthday which never ever pleases them. They always wanted to spend some quality time with their dad which is their real need. They don't need such valuable presents but they need only their father's valuable presence. They feel jealous of me when I tell them about my dad. I believe that time is the best thing a father can give to his children. He is the only person who makes me feel valued.
I think this quality makes him stand proudly apart from the commoners and this is the one that makes me love him even more.
There is no wonder that he is my role model. He has taught me the importance of family, relationship and love which all we need to lead a happy life. Now, I am a mother of a kid and I have resigned my job from a top IT company to take care of my kid. My hubby is also in the same line and he also feels that my presence is more important for my kid than the gifts I can buy for him.

My hubby, My love and laugh
It was just one day after I gave birth to my son. Relatives and friends kept on coming to see the baby. My hubby was there behind me all the time. Everything was going happily till Ramya entered into the room.
"OMG, Why have you put so much weight? You lost your charm. That is why I am postponing pregnancy. You will put a lot of weight and lose your charm totally. You will soon get grandchildren and become a granny who tells tales very soon.", she started teasing me in front of my guests and friends.
Ramya is the one who is ill-minded. She never think or talk anything good. If I wanted one person not to come for heaven's sake, that is her. But she had come without fail.
She makes her presence in every happy moment just to spoil without any invitation.
"It is okay for our grandchildren to call us grandparents. I think your kid might be calling you granny as you don't want to have kids when you are young. Also, you might need to pay a huge amount for the hospital as they might need to break a wall for you to enter during your pregnancy. I think that my wife's case is better.", he told.
Everyone started laughing loudly. She left the room immediately.
"Please do not mistake me. Her intention for visiting is not to see the baby. She just wanted to spoil the happy moment. Hope you all know about her.", my hubby told everyone.
"Why are you explaining all these things? We know about you and her. She ran away even without seeing the baby. She did not show any interest in seeing even before moving out. It was very funny seeing her running out.", my friend told.
Everyone could not stop laughing loudly including me. My hubby came towards me. "No one has the right to hurt you and I cannot allow it at all. You are my dear after all.", he whispered. "I love you.", I told my hubby with a smile.
My hubby used to tease me that I am becoming chubbier every day. He had told that our baby does no pillows as my hands could serve the purpose. But he never had the intention to hurt me. He just wanted to make me laugh by funny comments. But Ramya's intention is just to hurt me.

My golden #LoveAndLaughter Story
While returning from a birthday party, we stopped in a filter coffee shop in Velachery. We took the coffee outside the shop and were enjoying the aromatic filter coffee. It was around 3 PM. "What about Phoenix Mall? How far it is from here?", I asked him.
"Why are you asking? Don't imagine going there, at least, today. I am damn tired to walk for half a day. I want to go home and take rest.", he told.
"Did I tell you that I want to go there? Why are you telling all these things to me?", I got angry and begin shouting on the road.
"Why are you shouting? I just wanted to convey you that I am too tired to roam around.", he told.
"Actually, I don't have any plan to go there. But I just want to ask you what will you do if I ask you to take me there. Won't you take me?", I asked.
"Don't ask me such an unnecessary hypothetical question. You told that you are planning to go. What is the necessity of this question right now?", he asked.
"Tell me whether you will take me or not if I ask you to do so", I asked again.
"I think it is easy to convince even Karthick and not you", he was pointing to our kid and told.
"So, you are not going answer my question.", I told.
"Yes, if you are going to ask the same hypothetical question again and again. Come, let's move on.", he pulled me.
"No. Don't touch me. I am not going to take even a single step from this place without knowing the answer.", I told him.
"Don't be silly. I think you are hungry. Come, let us have some snacks in Hot Chips on the way.", he pulled me again.
"No, I told that I don't move until I get an answer.", I told.
"Dog, Dog, Dog...", my hubby shouted.
I ran towards him and hugged him tightly. I believed his words as I could feel that something was touching my dupatta.
"Let us move on. Let us move on from here.", I was shouting.
My hubby and kid started laughing at me. When I looked back, it was a little goat.
I couldn't resist myself from laughing loudly. "Idiot. You know all of my weak points and you are winning all the time.", I slapped him on the face and pushed both of them towards our car.
We came back to our home and I was combing my hair near the dressing table when I noticed a beautiful box suddenly.
When I opened it, I was stunned. It was a beautiful ring with a note wishing me a happy valentine's day.
When I turned to my hubby, he was smiling at me. "I kept it in the morning itself. But today you did not notice it. I was disappointed as you did not notice. That's why I urged you to return home sooner. I did not want to break the surprise at the same time. Thank God as he has sent a little goat to make that hot moment happier and I could keep my surprise finally.", he said.
"Amma, dog, dog, dog...", my kid shouted and we were all laughing for nearly an hour. I couldn't hide my tears and resist me from giving him a hug again.
"Happy Valentine's day", I whispered in this ears.
This event happened one year ago and I am curiously waiting for my surprise gift from him for this Valentine's day. I am hoping for a diamond earring this time:) Fingers crossed!

Yes, you need to be very careful while giving your baby to others. Can no one resist from giving a gentle pinch or a kiss on your baby's soft cheeks?
1. Keep the baby's skin well moisturized:
Keeping the baby's skin well moisturized is quite essential when it comes to skin care. You do not need to spend your hard earned money on buying special moisturizing lotions for applying on your baby's skin. A simple high-quality coconut oil can do the trick quite easily. Virgin coconut oil is highly recommended.
2. Keep the baby's skin always clean:
Give them a warm bath every day without fail. Of course, you cannot do it when they are not feeling well or the climate is so chill. Still you can give them a warm sponge bath to keep the baby's skin clean. Cleaning is required to remove the dirt from their skin. If they are not removed properly, they will get a lot of skin problems.

Impact of childhood stories
Each one of us has our own favorite rhymes and stories - Baa Baa Black Sheep, London Bridge is Falling Down, The Fox and The Lion story, The Clever crow story and many more. When my kid is now singing rhymes and telling stories, all my childhood memories are flooding back.
Impact of Rhymes and Stories:
1. They are good for the brain. When the child repeatedly hears the rhymes and stories, they understand the how language works. They understand complex words too easily. Children try to express themselves coherently when they recite the rhymes. Consequently, they develop the verbal skills quickly.
2. The visual and oral experience including pictures and music of rhymes and stories improve their memory capabilities.
3. They improve their cognitive skills and enable the children to quickly develop the skills of conceptualization of color, shapes, size and movement.
4. Movements, facial expressions, coordination, and gestures naturally develop their motor skills.
5. They improve their reading and listening skills.
6. They develop their imaginative skills. Stories and rhymes open up their imagination as they paint mental pictures of places and things.
7. They develop social and bonding skills also easily.

Stories and Rhymes have the power to mold the children and load them with moral values easily. Though I have a lot of stories to share which taught me good moral values, I restrict myself to only 2.
1. The Clever Crow Story:
The moral of the story of The Clever crow story is thinking and working hard enables us to find a solution to our problem.
I used to participate in all competitions and won many prizes when I was going to school. There was an elocution competition when I was studying Class VII. I came to know about the competition only the day before as I was in one week leave due to illness. There were no mobiles at that time. Also, only very few houses had landline facility too. So, my teachers told me that they were not able to communicate about this competition to me earlier. They told me that they can participate if I could prepare within one night.
I was not able to control my tears as I thought I could not do it within one night. I returned from school and was crying continuously.
My mom asked me the reason. I told her everything. My mom said to me, "Raji, You are not going to find a solution by crying. It is useless". My parents call me as Raji. That is my alias name. "Mom, if I did not get any fever, I could have participated in this competition. It is a district level competition and my teacher told me that the 1st price is a very big cup. God only gave me fever but is not helping me now.", I told. It is ridiculous now to think what I have told.
"No dear. The competition has not over yet. God has given you one full night to prepare. Why can't you try?", she asked me. "Mom, the library must have been closed by this time. It is already late. How can I prepare now without any reference?", I asked her.
"You know about the thirsty crow story right", she told. "Yes, mom. I know the moral too", I said. "So, you know thinking and trying hard will help you to find a solution right", she told. "Yes mom", I told.
"Okay. Now let us sit and think what can be done. What is the topic?", she asked. "It is about the great leader K.Kamarajar. As tomorrow is his birthday, the competition is about him.", I told.
"Library could be really helpful to gather reference books. But now it is not possible. Okay. I suddenly got an idea. You had a lesson about Kamarajar in Tamil language paper last year. We have given your last year books only to our neighbor Priya. Go and get the Tamil book immediately from her", she told.
"Mom, This competition is for middle-class students. So, everyone knows that lesson. The other participants might tease me if I just talk whatever is in the book. There will be nothing new. How Can I win then?.", I asked her.
"Elocution is not only about the points you talk. It is important what you say. But it is more important how you say it. Be fluent, elegant and persuasive. Use striking and appropriate words and express them with strong emotions. Try hard and you can win dear.", she told.
I got the book from Priya and my mom helped me in preparing the content. I spent the whole night in preparing for the competition. My mom was there with me helping the whole night.
I went and participated in the next day. Luckily I was the one who was asked to speak at last. So, I got more time to prepare. Keeping the thirsty crow story in mind, I spoke well.
All the competition for that day were over. They had started announcing the results. They started with the middle-class Elocution competition results. I was nervous but I had hope to win at least third prize. Third place was announced first and I was not the one. Second place was also announced and it was also not me. I lost my hope and tears started coming out. The first place was announced and I couldn't believe that it was me. Tears flooded quickly but due to happiness. That is my biggest cup which I got for a competition. It is still there in my native. Everyone asks about the cup and appreciates me even now.
"Mom, Thank you. If you could not have helped me, I could not have won.", I told her. "No dear. God and The Thirsty crow story helped you.", she told with a smile.
Whenever I lose hope and think that I do not have a solution to a problem, I recollect this memory and story. That's it. It boosts my confidence instantly and make me go ahead in life.
Thank you, mom and the thirsty crow story for teaching me to try and working hard. The moral is the one of the biggest treasure which makes me shine.
2. The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs:
Moral of the story - Too much greed always leads great loss.
I learned this story when I was in Class I. Since I learned this story in early stage itself, the moral has set in my mind strongly. Thank God for making me know about this story and I never felt greedy in life. I am extremely happy with what I have. I have never been in hurry or greedy to get things.
I feel poor for the people who are facing a loss because of their greediness. If everyone understands the moral of this story, no one will go in the wrong path. Greediness is the main reason for people committing a crime.
I advise the parents to tell this story and its moral to their children in the early stage itself. They will never get greediness in life. They will learn to be ethical and patient forever. It also makes them feeling happy with whatever they have.
Not only Rhymes and stories teach us moral values. Every child's learning process starts with Rhymes and Stories only. Both of them have the power of stimulating the children's brain.

1. Dumb Charades:

Fantastico List of very simple One minute Game Ideas:
Dumb Charades is one of the most popular one minute games played all over the world. Be it a birthday party, team outing or any other occasion, Dumb charades can be chosen without second thought.
To play Dumb charades, you have to choose whether the members have to imitate a place, person, movie, character or any thing. Have it as secret word. Call the person who is going to act for the secret word, tell him secretly or write in a slip and show it to him.
Dumb charades rules are simple. The acting person should not speak anything with the team. He should let the team members find out the person, place or thing purely by action/gestures within the specified time.
The actor can give non verbal answers for the questions from the other team members. If the team members are able to find out the secret word, they win the round. If both of the team wins in the same round by guessing correctly, the team which takes less time to guess will win.
Limit the subject to the relevant context so that the Dumb charades will be more interesting.
2. Pin the rubber band game:
You need rubber bands and safety pins in large quantity. The player has to use safety pin to connect 2 rubber bands. The player/team who makes the longest chain of safety pins and rubber bands wins the game.
3. Put the button in the hole game:
Take a small cardboard box. You can even use a sweet box to play. Make 1 or 2 small holes in the top of the box. You should be able to put a button inside the box through the hole. Since shirt buttons are small and easy to count, they can be chosen for playing. Blindfold the player and he has to put the buttons inside the box through the hole.
The player who puts maximum no of buttons inside the box wins the game.
4. Simple Memory Game:
Choose a thing or a famous personality. The player has to write as many things as possible related to the thing/personality in a minute. For eg, you can tell an actor's name. The player has to write the movie names the actor has acted in a minute. You can even choose a color and tell the player. for eg, if you tell green, the player can write leaf, peas, spinach etc. Based on the subject you choose, you can have limitations too.
This game can be conducted simultaneously. The person who write more words win the game.
5. Roman Numbers:
The player has to form roman numbers with match sticks. The person who makes more no of roman numbers win the game.
6. Show me the treasure:
You can place some objects in the room. You have to select an object as the secret treasure for each round. One person in the team should be the actor. He should not help his team to find the objects only by moving his eyes. He should not speak, move here and there, point out or show directly.
7. Blow the paper:
Place small pieces of newspaper in a bowl. The player has to suck the paper with a straw and put it on the another bowl. You can use other small and lightweight things like pulses, shirt buttons etc.
This is a small list of one minute game ideas which we have played in our team outing. We enjoyed it thoroughly. I will include more one minute games to this list whenever possible.

The peppy sound of love
On October 25, 2002:
It was a fine afternoon and all of us in our class were assembled in Physics lab in our college. My eyes were searching for him vigorously throughout the lab. But he was not there. "Where is he?", I asked myself. "He must have gone to his home for lunch. But it's too late.", I thought. After 10 minutes, he entered the lab and I was flying in the air to see him back. I reassured that I love him so much by those 10 minutes itself.
Almost 12 days ran over since he expressed his love to me. If you ask my heart whether I love him, yes would be the answer. I love him but I am struggling so much as I am not sure how to tell. Every day he asks me whether there is any positive change in me as I did not respond to his proposal on that day. I know that I am dragging him so much. He keeps telling that he believes that I love him.
Our Physics professor entered the lab at ultrasonic speed. He asked us to form 7 members group. As there were confusions in forming ourselves, he read out the names in alphabetical order to form groups. Luckily, both of our names start with 'S'. So we were put into the same group.
Our group was assigned an exercise with sonometer. There were only 3 sonometers in the lab. My physics professor told that 2 people had to do with one apparatus. He also asked the extra person to join the another group.
He came to me and asked me to join with him. I refused by words but not by heart. One of our team members Riya came to my sweetheart and told to come with her as I was refusing. "She is not interested in joining with you, right? Why are you begging her? Come with me. Let us do it", she told.
My sweetheart asked her to join another person but she told that she could not leave. The other four members started doing the exercise. Our professor noted that chaos among us. "One of you come out soon", he shouted.
Riya started pushing me to leave them. Suddenly my face got distorted with rage. Tears started coming out and I was about to cry. But she did not mind it at all.
"Why are you still standing?", she asked. "It is time to break the silence.", I thought. "You are the one who has to go.", I told.
"Me?", she asked. I know that Riya also has a soft corner for him. "Yes, you.", I said.
"But why?", she asked. "I cannot see him pairing with others", I told. "That is not my problem. Please leave soon.", she told.
"I cannot allow him to join with you", I told again. "Who are you to allow?", she asked.
My temper became very bad. I told her, "I am his lover."
She became sluggish and left the place. I was not able to rush out from the bad temper. "Why are you keeping silence? Do you want to join with her?", I shouted at him.
"No, I was waiting to hear such words from your mouth.", he told. "What?", I asked him. "I meant that I wanted to hear these peppy words from you. There will be no possessiveness when there is no love, right? ", he told.

Nowadays, schools are insisting to bring only healthy food items and they put a ban for non healthy junk items. We make sure that we are adding enough nutrients in their lunch and snack boxes. We are choosing apple, pomegranate, grapes and other fruits to pack for snacks box and to make juices.
This is happening in one side of India. Do you know about the other darker side? Every day millions of children are forced to choose between education and hunger.

Parents stop their kids from going to school and ask them to go for a job. Kids who are suffering from classroom hunger also agree to the decision of the parents. The primary need of anyone in this world is food. When the kids are not able to get it, they choose job over education. We all know that count of cases of marriage failures is increasing day by day. You cannot even imagine how rapidly it is increasing. The problem is people do not know how to keep the spark alive. They don't have even time to think about it. Be it gents or women, both of them are independent now even financially. Both of them are equally busy too. So, the probability of losing the spark and chemistry is so high in this hectic life.
Some people are smart enough in understanding things and they take enormous care to keep their wedding life smooth smartly. But some are missing their wedding boats. A tiny issue are leading to divorce also nowadays. If you have good spark and chemistry between you, both small and big issues cannot shake you anyways.
Breaking wedding life not only affects you. It also washes out the happiness of your parents and children lifelong. So, it is our responsibility to keep the passion.
Few Tips to keep the spark alive:
1. Everyone is different. Your partner might do what you do not like. Its okay if you fight with him for a couple of days and sometimes a week. But someone should come forward to resolve it. Let it be you also sometimes.

I would like to share a small story with you. Vishal and Meenu are a couple who got married after 5 years of love. They married after a lot of struggle but just after one month of their marriage, they got a small misunderstanding between them.
Vishal and Meenu stopped talking to each other. They don't even face them directly. Both of them are working. So, they both have no time to resolve the issue also. No one else is aware of their problem. They have the love but they did not have passion to reignite the spark. Vishal and Meenu had to attend a family friend's marriage. They went to attend the marriage. The time had come to take photographs. The wedding couple has compelled Vishal and Meenu to take photograph with them. Vishal went and stood with the bridegroom. Meenu stood near the bride. The photographer told that there is no liveliness in the face and the photo will not come good. He asked them to smile. They smiled but with no genuineness.
Photographer came to Vishal and pushed him near Meenu. "Go and stand there. Let's see whether you smile good", he said. He stood by compulsion but again with lack of passion. The photographer told that still it was not good. The bridegroom took the hand of Vishal and put around Meenu's neck. Can you guess what happened? The chemistry started working out and spark was reignited. They both had tears in their eyes due to happiness of being united again after a long time. They were not able to keep their fight alive after that minute. Both smiled nicely and the photographer finally took a perfect shot.

Fantastico tips to avoid baby falling off the bed
Hello friends,
This post makes parents and parents-to-be aware of the risks of leaving the babies on the bed unattended and what to do when they fall off the bed or couch. It also covers what to do when the baby falls off the bed.
I want to share 2 real life incidents that happened in my friends life and 1 from a newspaper. All of them never knew the risks of leaving the babies on the bed before their babies fell off the bed.
The point is, if you are aware of the risk, you will not put them on the bed and leave unattended.
Incident #1:
My friend had left her sleeping baby(stage - before starting crawling) with a pillow aside the baby. She went and started cooking. After few minutes, she heard that the baby was crying a lot. She found the baby lying on the floor. She immediately took it to a hospital where she was told that nothing has happened to the baby.
Incident #2:
My another friend has put her baby(just started crawling, but very very little) near her and slept in tiredness unintended. She woke up after hearing her baby crying after falling off the bed. The baby stopped crying in few seconds and started playing. No injuries found.
Incident #3:
I read this in a newspaper. Same as the first case. But the baby got the head injury and had to undergo several surgeries.
Fantastico tips to avoid baby falling off the bed:
1. Forget the cot just for the safety of your little one. Buy a fold-able bed and use it on the floor for sleeping. Even if you sleep next to your baby who started to move, it is risky to sleep on the bed. We do not know when the baby learns to crawl. Most of the mothers having less than 1-year-old will feel tired always because of lack of continuous sleep. So, use the bed on the floor to avoid any tragedies. You will feel relaxed. Make sure that you do not leave any harmful objects within their reach.
2. If you are using a cot, put the cot in a corner such that at least 2 sides of the beds are covered with a wall. Buy 2 fold-able beds and put them on the other sides. Hence, you can make sure that even if your baby falls off from a bed, nothing serious will happen. I would recommend the first option only.
3. Do not leave your child unattended if you are in a situation to put him/her on the bed. You should not sleep since mere presence cannot ensure your child's safety.
4. When you leave your baby with anybody else's care, do not forget to tell them to follow the above points since they might not be aware of the risk.
What to do when the baby falls off the bed or couch?
1. Don't be panic. Lift them slowly because we do not where the baby has injuries(I pray that it should not happen).
2. Calm the baby down. Consulting a doctor immediately is a must since we do not know whether the baby has internal injuries.

Impact of Pimples on Daily Life
"Oh No!" - This is what every girl says when she sees a newborn pimple in the mirror on her face. I am not an exception. The newborn will grow a lot and leave a mark even after dying. It will make me see my face so often in the mirror and makes me feel shy to go out. There are a lot of problems we face every day. It affects our everyday life too.
Below are the common problems I face when it comes to Pimples and the impact it has on my everyday life.
1. Have to say 'No' to my little kid:
It is worst to get pimples in cheeks. When my little kid comes to kiss me, I have to say him 'No' sadly and show him the other cheek. Also, I have to be very careful and control him when he plays with my face. It is too bad to control him when he shows his love to me.
2. No for beauty blog posts:
I used to plan every Sunday what I am going to post the whole week. I try to create a balance between beauty posts, recipes and other miscellaneous posts. If I see a pimple on my face, I feel guilty to write beauty posts and postpone it. Even though no one is going to see my pimple, I feel bad to write about it.
3. House Arrest:
Unless and until it proves to be necessary, I will postpone my outdoor plans as far as I can. I prefer staying at home instead of showing my pimple glowing face to others.
4. No free makeup:
I suffered a lot when a pimple left a mark in between my eyebrows. It was in the slightly lower part. When I put bindi in the usual place, it looked awkward. Sigh! I could not even see my face. So, I had to put my bindi on the mark to hide it. There were 2 marriages I had to attend. Everyone was asking why I had kept my bindi on the nose :( The mark was too bold to attract everyone and I wanted to hide it literally. I had no answer to explain everyone. So, I had to give them back just a smile.
5. Need to be Alert all time:
We have to be alert all the time even while sleeping. In case, if we scratch a pimple with the nails, the whole story will become worst. It will be painful too. I remember waking up in the middle of so many nights because of scratching the pimples while sleeping.
Preventive and Remedial measures for pimples:
I am glad that I am not the one who suffers from pimples every day. I ensure that I always choose a face wash which washes away the germs, pollution and excess oil. These 3 are controllable factors which cause pimples.
1. Germs:
Germs are one of the main reasons of pimples. You have to make sure that you are protecting your face from pimples. Our face wash should be able to wash away the problems which cause germs.
2. Pollution:
Our face gets impurities easily by the high amount of pollution. Our face wash should deep clean the pores to remove impurities caused by pollution.
3. Oil:
Excess oil is capable of attracting dirt and germs. Our face wash should be able to wash away excess oil.
Home Remedies for Pimples:
Neem leaf is a popular ingredient to prevent our face from pimples. It also helps to remove pimples from our face. Tea tree oil extracts also help in this regard.
You can grind the neem leaves with few drops of water and apply on pimples. You need to reapply till the pimples go off.
The problem is it looks ugly when you apply neem on your face. You cannot face anyone when you apply it. But it is worth to try when you are at home.
When there are no pimples, there is no chance for marks. I feel prevention is better than cure. Use a good face wash which can protect your face from pimples. Take care of your face and Say 'Bye' to Pimples and ugly marks.
