Mahabalipuram Lighthouse is one of the lighthouse you can climb up and enjoy. Several lighthouses remain closed for visitors and few of them are being opened for visitors. Mahabalipuram lighthouse is such a one you could enter and enjoy the view of the town.
Only 50 tourists are allowed at a time. There are 227 steps in the lighthouse which is 42 meter. You need to pay Rs.10 for an adult and Rs.3 for children. Foreigners have different charges.
If you are planning to visit the lighthouse, you need to be there before sunset because it will closed by 5:30 PM.
