L Shaped Kitchen Layout - Design Ideas with pictures

L shaped kitchen layout is the most preferred layout if you have less space for kitchen or rectangular kitchen. It is a popular layout followed by many of the apartment builders since it takes less space compared to other kitchen layouts. The buyers are looking for bigger living rooms and bedrooms. Whereas they do not have much focus on the kitchen space. Since L shaped kitchen layout provides more rooms for building bigger living rooms and bedrooms, it is the most preferred layout for many people.


What is L Shaped Kitchen Layout:


If a layout of a kitchen has two adjoining walls perpendicular to each other, it is called L shaped kitchen layout.

Advantage of L shaped kitchen layout:


1. The storage spaces are easily accessible.

2. You can have the work triangle at its best. It is easy to have sink, stove and refrigerator close to each other in L shaped kitchen layout.

4. Cost of modular kitchen will be less since we can accommodate at least 3 layers of cupboard.

8. Optimum utilization of corner space.



Drawbacks of L shaped kitchen layout:


1. If your L shaped kitchen is not lengthy, it cannot accommodate too many cooks at a point of time.

This impressive shot of Sculpture panel was taken in Cave temples of Mahabalipuram.

Lord Vishnu is in reclining pose lying on a serpent. It is taken in Mahisasuramardini cave temple. It is close to the mahabalipuram lighthouse on the top of the hill. The reclining posture of Lord Vishnu is opposite to the Durga panel at the end of the hall. The serpent is called Ananta. It is a multi-hooded serpent.

Mahabalipuram Lighthouse


Mahabalipuram Lighthouse is one of the lighthouse you can climb up and enjoy. Several lighthouses remain closed for visitors and few of them are being opened for visitors. Mahabalipuram lighthouse is such a one you could enter and enjoy the view of the town.

Only 50 tourists are allowed at a time. There are 227 steps in the lighthouse which is 42 meter. You need to pay Rs.10 for an adult and Rs.3 for children. Foreigners have different charges.

If you are planning to visit the lighthouse, you need to be there before sunset because it will closed by 5:30 PM.

Here comes my photography post on the dome of Mahabalipuram shore temple. Actually shore temple is a complex of three temples. One is large and other two are small temples.

It is built by Narasimhavraman II of the Pallava Dynasty. at the shore of Bay Of Bengal in 8th Century AD.

How To Reach Mahabalipuram from Chennai:

There is no direct electric train connectivity from Chennai to Mahabalipuram. You need to rely on local bus or call taxi. It is located around 52 km from Chennai. There are lot of buses available to Mahabalipuram from chennai.
